Extended Applications

Inks, textile coatings and film anti-block grades.

Data source. Values in bold for VS660, VS1650A and VS3851 are measured results from batch 260716 (sampled 2026-07-16), tested to HG/T 3061-2020. A batch COA is issued with every shipment and is available on request before ordering.

Remaining grades show typical values from standard production. Oil absorption for the three measured grades is reported by the DBP method in ml/100 g; other grades in g/100 g. Bulk density for measured grades is tamped density in g/cm³ converted from g/L. Confirm the current specification for your grade before formulating.

Parameter Guide

D10 / D50 / D90

Particle size distribution by laser diffraction. D50 = median diameter (nominal grade size). D10/D90 indicate distribution width.

SiO₂ Content

Silicon dioxide purity by gravimetric analysis. Synthetic amorphous silica standard: 95–99%. Higher = fewer impurities.

BET Surface Area

N₂ adsorption method (m²/g). Inversely related to particle size — finer grades have higher surface area. Range: 70–290 m²/g.

Oil Absorption

Linseed oil absorption (g/100g). Correlates with BET. Higher value = greater impact on system viscosity and matting efficiency.

pH (5% slurry)

Aqueous suspension pH. Affects resin compatibility and dispersion stability. Surface treatment agents adjust this value. Typical range: 6.0–7.5.

Moisture Content

Loss on drying @ 105°C (%). Excess moisture can cause agglomeration. Industrial spec: ≤6%. Premium grades: ≤5%.

Bulk Density

Loose bulk density (g/cm³). Finer powders: 0.27–0.33. Coarser grades: 0.37–0.44. Affects packaging volume and shipping cost.

Whiteness

Hunter whiteness / ISO R457. Critical for transparent and light-colored coatings. All Vistamatt grades ≥92.
