Nine coating solutions

Grades grouped by where they are used and what has to hold true in that system — so the first screening round starts in the right place.

Waterborne clear wood matte finish on oak cabinet door with VS660 sample card
Solution 1 · Semi-matte to matte

High-Clarity Waterborne Matting

For waterborne clear wood topcoats where grain definition and film clarity matter as much as the gloss target.

Matte without haze. Clear without shine.

White UV-cured cabinet panels with uniform matte finish
Solution 2 · Low gloss, uniform

UV Wood & Panel Stability

Separate screening paths for roller and spray UV lines, because one grade does not generalise across both processes.

Low gloss. More uniform panels.

Solution 3 · Controlled low gloss

Industrial & Metal Matting

Built around batch-to-batch consistency and process window, not a single headline matting figure.

Stable gloss. Reliable at volume.

Solution 4 · Deep matte

Premium Deep Matte Surfaces

Deep matte where the constraint is not how far gloss drops, but whether the surface stays fine, even and scratch-tolerant.

Low gloss. Not low grade.

Solution 5 · Soft low gloss

Flexible & Soft-Touch Matting

For elastic systems where the matting agent must not trade away flexibility, feel or abrasion resistance.

Soft matte. Durable surface.

Solution 6 · Natural matte

Leather & Synthetic Leather

Appearance that survives repeated flexing and wear, across genuine leather and PU/PVC synthetics.

Natural matte. Supple hand.

Solution 7 · Low-gloss inks

Matting for Printing Inks

For gravure and coated ink systems where a controlled low gloss must survive high-speed transfer and rapid solvent release.

Low gloss on thin films, without grit at the doctor blade.

Solution 8 · Flexible finishes

Matting for Textile Coatings

For coated fabrics and functional surface finishes where the matting must survive flexing, abrasion and repeated handling.

Matte that survives the flex, not just the panel.

Solution 9 · Film anti-block

Anti-Block for Plastic Film

For film opening and anti-blocking, where the additive must reduce surface contact without clouding the film or migrating.

Films that open cleanly, without the haze penalty.

Grade recommendations are a starting point for screening. Final suitability, dosage and performance must be verified in the customer's own resin system, at the target gloss and under actual process conditions.
